I added a new stat. It is the pitching total divided by 12 or your total pitching roster. It gives the average points per pitcher. It helps to quantify your pitching number just like the 'Bats/slots used' does. Obviously Banana S. comes in with the highest.
I think only Rosie (.11), Little Leaguer (.01) and Congregationals (.10) were up this week as far as Bats. A lot of regression there. That number will start to move less the farther we get into the season. A 7.5 might top that stat for the year. I personally was shooting for above 7.0 realizing my offense was pretty weak and young so I am happy right now. The one stat I wanted to lead in was AB and this week I took the lead. It is the one stat I can kind of control. But I am dead last in HR's.
Last week we had 6 teams that totaled over 900 for the week. This week only 4. Banana Slugs who had the highest total so far last week with 1139, had the second to lowest this week (It didn't help that he left Durbin on the bench last night, ouch!). I had a good week :) One really good week for anyone in the top seven will almost put them in the lead.
As far as position, B. Slugs and Bru both dropped this week while I jumped up. Not that it really matters at this point because we are all still pretty close together. Mudville has held the top spot two weeks in a row now.
Well we have entered the first turn and we are still bunched together. Mudville is riding the rail but he has no separation from the pack. It's anybodies race!
(Two apple turnovers wouldn't be too bad of a thing right? It IS Friday after all).

First of all you can NEVER have too many apple turnovers. Secondly congrats on sitting in first place this morning. Thirdly I still have Piazza and Thome on my dl, so I'm hoping for some seperation from them. Fourthly, since this is rivalry week, do the Royals have a rival? If I had to guess, I'd say Tampa Bay.....

lol. Royals rival is St Louis... not that it's much of one but the whole Denkinger call in game 6 of the 85 WS pretty much sealed the deal. I still love to watch that game. I love it even more when Cardinal fans whine about it.
The Royals get no love for the 85 postseason. They had to come back against Toronto (3-1 I think) AND against St Louis (again 3-1). And we came back against the most dominate closer in the league. Just a great series.
And yes, I do like the view from up here. But I'm afraid you will be up there tomorrow. Your three starters are of a higher quality than my three starters.
What was I thinking, Maddux for Boof?
I make the trade and the next night Maddux pitches a complete game. The fact that he wasn't getting many innings was the reason I was willing to let him go. Buddy Black was pulling him early in games. Combine that with the ability of runners to steal at will on him and I figured it was worth it.
But now it looks like he is primed to go on a streak like he had at the start of last year... just as I trade him!
Guess I can't complain cause boof piled up the K's last night.
I just had too many Twins sp! Santana, Garza and Boof. (I also had my eye on Baker, I picked him up in our other league.) So Maddux seemed like a sure thing, with Boof it wasn't. I had to think on it for awhile, because Boof will be good. Not great but a good quality sp. He's very streaky! Something I'm sure the Twins will iron out, but as you all know I'm in it for this year!
