First off, I totally agree on the whole "The Mudville Tight-Fisted-Unrealistically-Selfish... Nine" thing. That stubborn son of a gun always demands a player of equal caliber in return! The audacity of some people is outrageous. Secondly, I think you have to be a true baseball fan to be a Royals fan. Joking aside, it's been tough on Royals fans since the 'Brett years' are gone. Maybe that's why you can stay interested even though you say your fantasy team was out of contention, you have lots of practice in real life with KC. Aren't they usually out of contention by April 2? Maybe Meche will change all of that.....then again maybe not. I'm with you on being excited about baseball starting tonight. I'm not a Cardinals or Mets fan but it's BASEBALL!!!! Plus in the league Pujols is one of my best players(obviously) and it would be nice to get off to a great start. Well good luck on your fantasy season and with the whole Royals season. I'll be reading often and posting derogatory remarks about the Royals regularly.
There's no crying in baseball! As far as defending myself goes, I quote my hero, the living legend Hawk Harrelson. "My behind was so tight you couldn't pull a greased tee from it." That pretty much sums up my trade philosophy.
For the record, I believe this tight fisted owner pulled off the most controversial trade of the preseaon. Smoltz for Johnson and Wang...............both of whom are on the dl to begin the season. Some owners (my brother) believe I personally injured those two pitchers just to prove my point. I can only say Cinch it up and hunker down, Sit back, relax, and strap it down 2007 has just begun.
Lol. Your trade was unequivocally the most controversial trade of the pre-season. And your offer of H. Ramirez for Lee is still tempting me. My heart says I did the right thing while my head thinks i BLEW it.

I never thought of it that way. That my KC experience provided training for my fantasy experience. You could be on to something there.
