Second Checkup

We are generally through the rotation for the second time and Evil Empire is still holding about the same lead but didn't lengthen it at all.

1. EVIL EMPIRE 1460
2. Mudville Nine 1386
3. Wizzard of Ozzie 1322
4. Sonic Death Monkees 1320
5. The Congregationals 1313
6. Banana Slugs 1305
7. Little Leaguer 1291
8. Florida Pirates 1277
9. Columbus Mad Cows 1260
10. Bru Cru 1252
11. Mac & Zack Attack 2 1238
12. Rosies Angels 1116

I know offense has been anemic generally due to cold weather but lets look at it. This is presented in the actual order of standings and not in offensive order.

1. EVIL EMPIRE 641

2. Mudville Nine 627

3. Wizzard of Ozzie 642

4. Sonic Death Monkees 592

5. The Congregationals 569

6. Banana Slugs 524

7. Little Leaguer 613

8. Florida Pirates 613

9. Columbus Mad Cows 549

10. Bru Cru 657

11. Mac & Zack Attack 2 649

12. Rosies Angels 523

From that list we can see that Banana Slugs and I and even Sonic are doing well even with a bad offense. While MZ2 and Bru are in definite need of pitching but their offense is good. Bru and MZ2 are leading with offense but are at the bottom of the pack. It might be a good time to offer them a pitcher :)

EE is looking good offensively. Last year Bru won it with excellent pitching and a good offense. Through two weeks that is what EE has done. Felix isn't hurting him at all. It will be interesting to watch how this unfolds.

As far as points generated per game. I averaged out games, I know this isn't totally accurate since we have had a lot of PPD games so take it however you want. I subtracted 6 games for missed slots(11 daysx9players-6). Bru leads with 7.064 and Rosie gives us the other spectrum with a 5.623. Bru won it last year with around a 7.1 ppg, if I remember correctly. And this year we added the extra point for the BB so you would think totals would be higher. It's pretty obvious offense is slow due to weather or whatever.

If I get bored I will run the pitching numbers later.

Pretty happy with the makeup of my team, its pretty well balanced overall so far. I'm not shooting for second though. I'm waiting on Manny to heat up and Vic Martinez to start playing again. I'll continue to do well if Carlos Lee keeps swattin away!

My how one game changes things. And what makes it even more unbearable is Hanley is battling a hamstring injury right now.

I just looked over your roster and you look better than I remembered. I really hope Shealy can turn it around, he has looked pretty bad early but a lot of hitters have. Your sitting well though because you don't really have to play him.

I remember when I saw you picked up Piazza and thinking that was a great pickup for you. He gives you the flexibility with Victor that you don't absolutely have to have another 1B so you can hang onto a guy like Shealy who may do something special... someday... after he leaves the Royals.

Watcha think about my Ortiz trade? Big Pappit and Pujols in the same lineup! Yee-Ha!
I'm pretty happy with my lineup top to bottom. My pitching has done pretty well, not great but good.
Can you believe I drafted King Felix last year, and LET HIM GO :0 You can chalk that up to my rookie year impatience-or stupidity. I still kick myself for that one. He was having alot of problems early 06 and they were talking about sending him to the minors and possibly for a while. If only we had the extra two spots for saves.....
I've lost some points already because yahoo hasn't changed Mcarthy or Wainright to a sp and I can't start all three of my relievers every day. It's almost like I'm playing for free or something. Anybody else have that problem?

I have refrained from discussing your Ortiz trade because I didn't want Columbus to be offended by my remarks.
